I bought this as a “novelty” gift for my mother-in-law, but the picture where it shows how the knife “melts” the butter by shredding it into thin strips really picked my curiosity, so I had try it!! And wow, it REALLY WORKS just like in the picture!! It won’t turn your butter stick into a butter spread, but definitely makes it way easier than any regular “butter” knife would! Also, the tip has a larger opening that “shaves” the butter as one wider strip, - nice for spreading on bread or for baking, esp. for recipes where you need to mix in the butter without melting it first. So impressed I’m keeping this one!

The knife is functional! The bigger hole on the top helps the knife slide over the butter easily, getting a good amount of the spread. For the smaller holes along the side, it works better if the butter is soft. I’m satisfied with this product!
